ELDT 2 - Chapter 4 - Disturbed silence

As the sun painted the sky with yellow and purple colors, Elecman was home playing his new electric guitar in the early evening. He kept thinking if this new Mega World theme park could become a new case. Crashman entered the room putting Elec out of thought.

"I've got the documents from Quickman." He said, holding between his non-hands.

"Good work. Let's take a look at them." Elec replied, putting them on the table.

"So, did you have fun with Emily?"

"We did. I took her to the park, feeding the ducks then saw a little boy being chased by a goose." He replied, turning the pages as he spoke.

"And I bet you laughed."

"A little. And I also met this vampire freakshow who gave me a ticket to his themepark." He replied, reading the paper of Dr.Cossak's buisiness trip location.

"...But I thought Vampires only come out at night." Crash replied.

"This one doesn't. Even though his name is SHADE-man, has actual wings and plays the cliché gentleman with an evil smirk on his face."

"Do you think this may be a new criminal? Or just a robot who looks like dracula because his master was a big fan of halloween?" Crash teased. Elec thenput away his guitar, while reading the paper.

"I might have two if we don't find out where Dr. Cossack is. His plane arrived at 7 O'clock at Jhonson airport and was going to an important meeting the next day. But he didn't show up."

"Who didn't show up?" A voice interupted. The two looked to the right, seeing Emily at the door entrance. Elec tried to hide his shocked expression not wanting to scare Emily with the news. "Uuuhh..."


"A guy at the anniversary!" Crashman replied. "He...uh, overslept."

"Oh. Well that's rude." She said.

Elec sighed silently. Putting the paper back in the map. "Yeah. He's probably gonna fired."

"Who's gonna get fired?" Alisa interupted.

"A guy who didn't show up at the anniversary." Emily stated.

"Didn't show up? But everyone was-"

Elecman quickly stood up infront of Alisa, to stop her sentence. "Heeeeeeyyyy sweetness, had a g reat day?" He said with a happy face.

"Oh, yeah I did. you?" She asked.

"Nothing special. Just had some fun after we met a creepy advertiser who claims he has a themepark."

"...Pardon?" Alisa looked confused. A fake smile stayed on Elec's face as Crashman showed Emilyhis guitar.

"Can we talk? Alone?" She raised an eyebrow, knowing something was up. The two walked out of the living room and into the hall.

"I gave her a little tour around the work place but when she was outside, this weird vampire guy gave me this ticket." He wispered loudly, showing the ticked.

"Vampire?"

"Yes. His name was Shademan and claimed he was tourguide, advertiser and part of an attraction in his theme park called: Mega world."

Alisa looked at the back of the ticked, reading the adress as he spoke.

"How come I've never heard it?" She asked. "That's what I said. He said that they're just moving into town and that some attractions arn't finished. Yeah. That's not suspicious at all!"

"it is strange." She said, looking back at Elec. "But wait... you said that "when she was outside?" You wern't there when this man appeared?"

"I wasn't because I wanted to leave a note at the entrance to let everybody know I was taking a day off. But..." He paused for a moment looking back a little with worry on his face.

"What?" Alisa interupted.

"The moment I walked in, I couldn't remember why I was there. As if I...forgot what I was doing." The two were silent for a moment. "My boss asked me to come with him and I didn't realize Emily wasn't with me."

"Maybe it was some kind of small...glitch in your memory unit?" She said.

"I don't know. But, it is strange. I only forget things when I can't focus." He replied. Suddenly, Emily stood by the entrance of the door, looking at the two as they turned around.

"Mister Elecman?" She said politely. "Yes?"  "Could you play a song for us?"

Then Crash appeared. "Yes mister Elecman~ We wanna hear aaaalll the children songs until the clock hits midnight~" He teased. Emily giggled.

"I'll only play Rain Rain go Away. After that, you're going to bed. It's already 11 PM." He replied.

"Ok." She anwsered, walking towards the coutch. "You two Crash. A doofus like you can't stay up this late." He teased while grabbing his guitar.

"Oh what? Do I act like a child?" "Most of the time."

Later as the clock hit 1 AM and the full moons' light shined on the city, there was a peacefull silence surrounding the neighbourhood. Crashman slept like sleeping bauty and Emily lay comfortable under her blankets. Elec and Alisa were together in bed, with the Elecman's back turned against her. But suddenly, the silence was disturbed by sound coming from beneath. Cyan colored eyes opened, glowing in the dark as Elecman sat up looking around to see where it came from. He kept a focused expression; waiting if he'll hear it again. And it did.

He heard rumbling noises downstairs, as if someone broke into his house. He carefully got out of bed slowly opening the door not trying to make a sound. The noise stopped and repeated itself while he went down the stairs, grabbing a flashlight in the drawer. He switched on the light, pointing it at the door of the kitchen where the sound was coming from. He quickly opened the door only tofind that the intruder was a Mettool. A little robot with a hard hat and yellow collor was invading the frige. He noticed the light behind him, got scared and tried to run away. But Elec quickly grabbed his helmet in which the little guy retreated himself in as a defendse.

"What are you doing here?" He asked quietly. "Did you get kicked out of the group and need a place to stay?"

The little Mettool slowly got out of his helmet realizing that this robot wasn't here to harm him.

"Well, if you just wanted an E-tank you're gonna have to wait till morning." He replied with a smile, putting him down.  "You can sleep on the coutch. And don't even think of trying to drink at 1 o'clock. Or else you're out."

He stated. The Mettool nodded yes as he walked towards the coutch, while Elecman closed the frige. But then out of nowhere, two hands grabbed him. One of his mouth and one of his right shoulder. The Mettool got scared, hidding in his helmet as Elecman struggled to get out of the intruders' grip. He looked up and saw Shademan. The vampire shaped robot who he met earlier that day.

"If you value your life, then listen carefully." He said, playing his left thumb on Elecman's forehead. His resistance stopped and stared ahead. As if he was put into a trance. He was full aware of what was happening, but could not move aything or even activate his electricity.

"When you wake up the next morning, you will forget about the important documents."

He said with a dark tone in his voice. His left thumb began to glow. Elecman began to feel week as his eyes tried to stay open. A few seconds later, the thumb stopped glowing as it let go of his forhead. The stunned robot stared ahead in shock; still stuck in this weird state.

"Now...sleep." He said, waving his hand to the  left, passing Elecman's face.

Then, his eyes slowly started to close and began to loose strength in his legs. The flashlight dropped when his knees touched the ground; only seeing a blury figure of Shademan before everything went black.
