Description

But for Elec, there was one more thing to do. A few weeks later, he and Quickman arrived at a highly secured prison located at the outskirts of the city. After a conversation with the headguard, they agreed to Elecman's request and went into an elivator.

"Are you sure you wanna do this?" He asked.

"...I have to." He replied.

They finally reached the bottom and saw a hallway with a dead end. Or so it seemed. Quickman carried his friend to the end of the hall as the guard brought a chair for him to sit on. He still wasn't able to walk on his own due to the wires that replaced the old ones. His left leg also wasn't fixed. Despite his profile, they still had to find the material in order for him to make a full recovery. But Elec had a plan to make sure of that.

"You don't wanna join?" He asked.

"No. I don't wanna see him." Quick replied.

"As I thought."

"You'll get 20 minutes." Said the guard.

He sat down on the chair as he along with the guard left to a room with a controll panel and a screen which showed camera footage.

Then, the wall began to move up and a loud noise echoed through the hall. Even a second wall which was made out of platinum moved out of the way, revealing a strong set of bars that seemed almost unbreakable.

Behind them was a prison cell with the mastermind behind it all, chained in handcuffs that wern't too much of a hindrence, but prevented him from doing anything wrong. Surprisingly, he sat on a chair as well but looked away. It was quiet for a moment as Elec looked at him; Not surprised or scared, but rather focused and calm.

"...Wouldn't it be great if one my own creations came all the way over here, taunting me about my emberassing defeat until I give into regret?" He said.

"It would. But that's not why I'm here."

"Hurry up then... and explain yourself. I have more things to do besides rotting in jail."

A few seconds passed between the two before Elec broke the silence.

"You know...I have to admit. I didn't see this coming. How you carefully put this plan together and almost got away with it. But I can't forgive you for what you've done. Killing innocent people wasn't the best option now was it?"

Whily didn't say anything and didn't even look him in the eye.

"I also didn't expect to be discovered by a bunch of scientists who gave me the task I was ment to do...only to awaken a hidden curse you put in me. Thanks to you, I broke the first law and those memories will never fade. But...I have to thank you for that."

"...For what?"

"Without everything that happened, I wouldn't be here right now. If I didn't kill those people, they would've never  given me a chance to become a detective and protect the city from you. I would've never faced so many obstackles that teached me so many things...having the best of friends I could ever ask for...and a wonderfull wife I love everyday."

"Is that it? You came here to thank me for that nonsense?"

"No. You see, during these 3 years of detective agency, whenever a person got killed or something went missing, I always get the same two questions: ...Who did it and where is he? The question I always ask...is why? Why did he do it? Most people who say that the suspect is a psychotic or he got paid to do it. Or... they want power and respect."

"What has all of this to do with me!?"

"You and all the criminals in the world have one thing in common...They want to be happy."

Then, the doctor almost looked at him, almost spotting the scars Elec had on his face and that he wasn't standing on his feet.

"But they reach for it in the worst way. I didn't expect it from you since you're a genius after all."

"It wasn't like I had much of a choice!" He snapped and began to look angry at the robot.

"Thomas was always the one who got the attention! He was always adored by millions as I stood next to him, wondering if they also appreciated me! But no, HE was better even though we were equal in our abilities and intelligence! Without my help, people wouldn't even know his name or greatness! Why do you think he deserved to live!?"

"Because he was the only one who gave you the respect you always wanted."

Whily was surprised for a second; Not sure what he had to say to that and looked away.

"You don't know that." He replied.

"Maybe I don't. But from what I've heard and read, he was a generous, kind and compassionate man who cared for robots and humans equally."

"But foolish and blind enough that he didn't see I was teated as second best...while I knew...and believed that I was the true genius."

"He wasn't oblivious to that. And it was never his intention. Thomas didn't see you as his colleague or some other scientist who just so happen to help him finish his projects. He acknowledged you as his best friend. But instead of telling him what's wrong, you took his friendship for granted and killed him. And look where you are now."

The two were silent for a moment. There was a small spark or realization in his eyes.

"...And how can I believe you?"

"I know because I can feel it. All the good inside of me...he put it in there. Same goes for you. Though this insanity may never get out of my head, I've found a way to deal with it. Perhaps you should do the same before you realize how fast time flies." He said, impying that Whily should find away to enjoy his life despite being a prisoner.

"Time's up!" Said the guard behind him.

"Give me one second." He said and looked back at his creator who stared down at the floor.

"You can send all the infromation towards the company I work with and they'll send it towards the technicians."

"What are you saying?"

"I'm asking you a favor. I won't be able to protect the city if I can't walk on my own or activate my electricity. It's the least you can do. You even did something good without knowing it.

"...And that is?"

"You created a place where humans and robots can have fun together. It certainly strengthens their bond...thanks to you."

Then, the metal walls began to fall down, knowing that his time was up, Whily took one final glance at his creation.

"Goodbye." Said Elecman before the walls touched the ground. Silent, Whily didn't move or say anything as he looked down to the ground once more. He almost couldn't believe that these words came out of his mouth. That he's endured so much suffering and pain and still manage to live a good life. He wondered...should I make the best of what I still have?

One more chapter and I'm DONE.
